DEAR COLLEGE SHOW PRESENTER,
I LOVE to do college presentations
and have done them for many years. I will happily come
to YOUR campus!
I have been a visiting artist at New
York University, Brown Univ., Santa Cruz, Dennison University,
University of Southern California, Mills College, Colombia
University, and many others. My presentation is often produced
by several departments; Women's Studies, Film Studies,
the Art Department, Queer groups, student groups, sex education
groups, etc.
Generally my presentations are for 100 to 700 students and open to everyone
in the school, and often also open to the public. However I can also work
with just one class, or a small group, and also spend time consulting with
individual students.

ABOUT THE PRESENTATION
These presentations cover many
timely topics including censorship, sexually explicit
art and film making, queer and gender issues, the sex
workers rights movement, sex positive feminism, "post-porn",
and much more. It is entertaining, humorous and upbeat.
As part of the show, sexually explicit films and slides
are generally shown, however they are carefully contextualized
and presented with great sensitivity. There is no live
nudity, except for a two-minute Bosom Ballet at the end
(which is optional). I project film clips, do a Keynote
slide show, read from my book, do segments from various
performances, speak frankly and honestly about my experiences,
and encourage audience response, discussion and questions.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
VHS video projector. (NTSC) Yes, I use
video tapes!
Projection screen (as large as possible)
CD player with speakers for music.
Sound mixing board, to run video sound
and microphone sound at the same time, and to vary the
volume levels.
The best lighting situation possible.
A spotlight is fantastic.
Two tables for me to display items, with
pretty tablecloths.
A hand held microphone with a cord long
enough to cover the stage area. (Back-up microphone for
emergencies is always wise.)
Data Projector, for use with my Mac Ibook
computer, with the right cables. And a remote.
DESCRIPTION FOR PRINTING ON POSTERS,
FLYERS, CARDS
Prostitute/porn star turned sexologist/performance
artist, Annie Sprinkle is coming! Annie has devoted the past
35 years to passionately researching and exploring sexuality,
from the sacred to the profane. She has documented and shared
her findings through explicit films, photography, and sexuality
workshops. For the past decade she has toured her controversial
one-woman theater shows internationally to great acclaim. Annie
will share some of her life's work, do mini-performances, and
stimulate discussion with the audience.
SET UP REQUIREMENTS
I would like to have a minimum of 2
and a half hours of set up time before the show is scheduled
to start.
HANDOUTS
I always like to make programs or give
out handouts. I will supply the material in advance and you Xerox
it at your expense.
